Christa Barrett, Mississippi State University (MSU) clinical instructor, and Debra Moore, MSU assistant clinical professor, both presented during the Southeast Regional Sea Turtle Meeting from February 28-March 2, 2023. The meeting, held at Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach, Alabama, was focused on "Conservation in a Changing World." Barrett presented an oral presentation titled "Medical Use of Cold Laser Therapy of Lytic Bone Lesions in Cold-Stunned Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtles," and Moore presented a poster titled "Mississippi State University's Enhancement of Veterinary Care to Sea Turtles in Rehabilitation." Together, researchers at the meeting were looking to address sea turtle conservation concerns to protect this species.
