Mississippi State University is featured as a Story of Impact in the latest Partnerships Report from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The report recognizes MSU’s role as an FAO Reference Center on Antimicrobial Resistance and Aquaculture Biosecurity—which is managed by the Global Center for Aquatic Health and Food Security (GCAHFS) and led by Dr. Stephen Reichley—as well as the university’s contributions to advanced data and modeling through high-performance computing. Specifically, the impact story highlights the importance of MSU expertise on aquatic disease burden and biosecurity strategies for aquaculture, which supported the development of guidance documents and toolkits for the Progressive Management Pathway for Aquaculture Biosecurity (PMP/AB). Dr. Mark Lawrence, director of GCAHFS, serves on the PMP/AB technical working group.

Together, FAO and MSU are supporting better production by leveraging science, technology, and innovation for a sustainable, food-secure world.
