What is your role at Mississippi State University and how are you affiliated with GCAHFS?
My name is Alison Lee. I am an Associate Professor at Mississippi State, and I am a veterinary radiologist. My role in GCAHFS is image support. I help our team on the coast decide what imaging might be best for each patient. My team and I also interpret and provide reports for all imaging for every patient. This includes radiographs, ultrasounds, and CT scans of patients.
What is the most rewarding part of being affiliated with GCAHFS?
I really value being part of a dedicated patient care team as part of GCAHFS. I am passionate about diagnostic imaging, and it is very rewarding to use my skills in this area to support accurate diagnostics and patient care for these patients. The team at GCAHFS is very collaborative and it’s so rewarding to work with so many talented and passionate colleagues helping these patients.
How has GCAHFS advanced your career or schooling?
Aquatics is not an area that I spent a lot of time on in school or in my specialty training. GCAHFS has allowed me to really enhance my training and skills in aquatics and has introduced me to a whole network of professionals in this field.
What are some fun facts about you?
I am originally from Washington state and moved to Mississippi to complete my residency training—and never left! My family and I enjoy hiking and spending time on the river. In my free time I enjoy crafting and baking.
